The Origin of Tea
Tea was born in China around 300 BC. Shen Nong was a Chinese nomad who roamed the prairies in search of herbs, investigating and tasting their different flavors out of curiosity. In his journey, he got sick and while he rested under a plentiful tree, a few leaves fell into the pot of water from where he had been drinking. The story tells that after he drank the water with the leaves, he was cured. Tea was therefore born as a herb that gave health, a drink with medicinal traits.
